The impact of the pandemic and eating disorders in young people.

The unprecedented events which have occurred this past year have had a negative impact on those struggling with eating disorders. 87% participants surveyed reported their eating disorder symptoms worsening as a result of the pandemic (1).

Of those struggling from an eating disorder, studies have showcased that young people and children are most at risk (2). In these times of home schooling and increased social isolation, the risk of this age group developing an eating disorder and mental illness has become even greater. It is therefore essential that a conversation is started to help address ways in which we can help young people.

Join Breathe Therapies’ Clinical Director, RMN and Nurse Specialist Shelley Perry, and other specialist clinicians for an informative session on eating disorders in young people, the impact the pandemic has had on those struggling and how you can help those struggling to reach out for treatment.
