Launch of Our FoodFutures
Over the past year FoodFutures has facilitated a process to co-create a positive 2030 food vision and strategy for North Lancashire
FoodFutures is North Lancashire’s award-winning sustainable food partnership. It is working to build a collaborative community of people from across our local food system that work together to create ‘A thriving local food system that is healthy, resilient and fair.’
The partnership is made up of individuals, organisations and businesses that represent a cross-section of our local food system: from growers, producers and shop owners, to chefs and restaurant owners, to community garden project workers, allotment growers, and food eaters. We operate as a working-group led network – being guided by our communities and the new 2030 community food strategy for North Lancashire. Our work involves planning events and activities; publishing a weekly food column and now magazine; consulting with local stakeholders and institutions; setting up new food projects and pilots where needed; sharing our knowledge and making connections within our community and wider support networks.
Over the past year FoodFutures has facilitated a process to co-create a positive 2030 food vision for North Lancashire and a strategy for getting there. More than 250 people of all ages and backgrounds have fed into the process and we are now ready to share it with the world!
FoodFutures working groups will be taking forward elements of a North Lancashire food strategy, but if we are going to make this vision of healthy and sustainable food a reality, we will need plenty of help. Join us during this online community conversation to find out more and how you can get involved in growing North Lancashire’s sustainable food futures.
